Abstract
Through two illustrative case studies, this thesis seeks to contribute to the body of knowledge on Alternative Food Networks regarding their emergence, hybrid principles and practices and potential contributions to sustainability. The data collection consisted of semi-structured interviews with organisers and producers of an Organic and an Alternative Food Market, follow-up interviews were conducted to gain additional insights on their practices.
