Khorsheed, Bilal (2018) TWIN SCREW GRANULATION: UNDERSTANDING THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF PHARMACEUTICAL EXCIPIENTS FROM POWDER TO TABLET. PhD thesis, University of Sheffield.
Abstract
The overall aim of this work is to understand the effect of the mechanical properties of the primary powder and the granulation process on granules and tablets properties, most importantly tablet tensile strength. The study investigated the mechanisms that dictate the change in tabletability before and after wet granulation using twin-screw granulation (TSG). Additionally, the research focused on improving the understanding of the relationship between the properties of the compressed materials and their tablet strength.
