Abstract

For 13 months after qualifying, the writer acted as Medical Officer at the Royal Infirmary, Sheffield. . In each department, it was remarkable what a vast amount of material there was for investigation and research, but the pressure of * work during war time prevented any other than the ordinary routine of hospital life. Certain cases, however, remained in her mind, especially three cases of Septicaemia, where the original focus was undiagnosed and which in consequence did not re-act to treatment. Notes were kept of these cases, hoping that some solution to the problem should be arrived at in the near future.
