Abstract
Liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) are a lightly crosslinked network that combine the orientational ordering of liquid crystal phases with the rubbery elasticity of elastomeric materials. These materials have been proposed as pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs) where their anisotropic nature can be imparted on to their adhesive properties. Adhesive and mechanical measurements were performed on a series of elastomers in different orientations and phases.
