Abstract
This thesis explores the integration of soft robotics and smart materials to advance the development of multi-physical-centric embodied intelligence (EI) in autonomous systems.
By shifting from traditional electronic-dependent architectures to material-centric designs, this work demonstrates how physical and morphological properties can inherently encode simple control logic, enabling autonomous and adaptive interactions with environments. This thesis introduces an untethered soft-robotic architecture that integrates remotely applied magnetic induction and navigation, smart behaviours of smart materials, and energy generation through chemical reactions.
