Abstract
Permanent magnet (PM) synchronous machines (PMSMs) have been widely applied to aerospace, wind power generation, electric vehicles, robots, servo control systems, domestic appliances etc., and their thermal analysis and temperature estimation, which are addressed in this thesis, are critical to prevent thermal deterioration of winding insulation and potential irreversible demagnetization of PMs.
