The dimensional properties of Raschel knitted fabrics constructed from wool yarns

The thesis is a report of an investigation into the relationships between fabric dimensions and the stitch length of single bar warp knitted constructions under various conditions of relaxation. The dimensions are described in terms of the kc , kw, ks, and krvalues of the fabrics.
It has been found that the ultimate fabric dimensions are independent of yarn count but the relationship between c.p.i. and stitch length on the machine is count dependent. Two loop models have been proposed for relaxed and machine state fabrics and the felting properties of the 1 x 1 closed lap construction have also been investigated
