Ledingham, Lyndsay A (2016) Sustainable Methods for the Chemical Synthesis of Amides and Amide-Containing Aromatic Compounds. PhD thesis, University of York.
Abstract
Described in this thesis is work based on silica and palladium catalysis which focusses on
the formation of amide-containing compounds. Efforts were made towards expanding the
substrate scope of direct amide bond formation reactions catalysed by an activated K60
silica catalyst. Two of the resulting amides were then investigated as substrates in single
and oxidative C–H functionalisation reactions to form phenanthridin-6(5H)-ones.
