Welcome to the attached software for Jessica Wardman's PhD thesis "A Symmetry Approach to Virus Architecture".

This CD contains three main directories: point_array_generation, premade_point_arrays and master_algorithm.

point_array_generation contains the files necessary to calculate the pure point-arrays (from the standard three base shapes and from C60) from first principles. 

premade_point_arrays contains the point-arrays pregenerated. The "pure" arrays (of which there are 55) are available up to the second iteration. The "combo" arrays (of which there are 569) are available up to the first iteration.

master_algorithm contains the files used to perform the best-fit algorithm on either a desktop machine or a cluster; however, minor editing will be necessary for it to work properly.

All files were written on, and are designed to work under, Linux.
